INSURANCE RESTORATION FAQ

Of course, each situation will vary, however, most properties will take approximately 3-5 days to dry completely. There are several factors that determinate the drying time necessary. These include location, the source of the water, and the duration of the water exposure. There are other factors that play a part including the type of building materials, weather conditions, and how quickly our services can begin due to safety. Our staff determines when the drying stage is complete through constant moisture monitoring and evaluation of the water damage restoration process.

As a courtesy to our customers we will work with your insurance company on billing. We will work closely with your insurance adjuster to determine the correct amount for the claim to ensure that the work is done properly. When you call our office, be prepared to supply any supporting materials for your claim. These include your claim number, policy number, and all of your insurance company information. Each insurance company has their own policy as to whom they write the checks to and you will need to verify with them as to their policy. Always remember that you are responsible for any deductible that your policy has before any money will be paid out toward your claim. In the rare event that your claim is not covered by your insurance provider then you will be responsible for all payments.

At Atlantic Restoration payment is collected once service is rendered. It is your responsibility to pay your insurance deductible on the day of service, unless specified otherwise by your insurance claims representative. In the case of self-pay, we will need to collect full payment on the day of service. In some cases, a staggered draw payment arrangement can be made, but this is purely up to the decision of Atlantic Restoration’s finance department and all decisions made by the company are final.

If you file an insurance claim, you should receive guidance from your insurance representative on this question. While it is not a requirement of Atlantic Restoration, LLC. that our clients move out during the drying process of water damage restoration, however there are several items to consider when deciding where to reside. Your safety is our number our priority. Our equipment is as childproof as possible, but we request your supervision in making sure no children play with or around our equipment. Air movers and dehumidifiers will create some noise and make your property drafty for a few days. If you feel that this will be too much of an inconvenience for you then finding an alternative place to reside until we complete this process would most likely make you the most comfortable.

No. Turning off the equipment not only slows the drying process down, but your insurance provider will not pay for the extra days of drying due to the equipment being powered off.
